About bodyform physiotherapy

Unlock your potential and redefine your limits with us. Our Physiotherapists tailor treatments and rehabilitation to help you move better and feel better.

Bodyform Physiotherapy is a private physiotherapy clinic in Leeds providing personalised assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal problems.

We work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and activity levels, helping them recover from pain and injury, rebuild strength and confidence and return to the activities that matter to them.

Our approach is centred around understanding the individual rather than simply treating a diagnosis.

Our Story

Physiotherapy built around people, not just problems

Bodyform Physiotherapy was founded by Ammit Mistry, a Chartered Physiotherapist who has been working in physiotherapy since 2011.

Throughout his career, Ammit has had the opportunity to work across a wide range of healthcare settings, including hospitals, private clinics, occupational health, GP practices and First Contact Physiotherapy services. He has worked with people experiencing a wide variety of musculoskeletal problems, from everyday aches and pains to more complex and longstanding conditions.

These experiences shaped his understanding of what good physiotherapy should look like.

Over the years, Ammit saw how easily people with pain or injury could feel as though they were being passed from one service to another, sometimes receiving a diagnosis and a set of exercises without feeling that someone had really taken the time to understand them, their circumstances and what they wanted to achieve.

For Ammit, physiotherapy has always been about more than treating a painful body part.

It is about listening carefully, understanding the person behind the symptoms and working together to find the right way forward.

Why Bodyform was created

Bodyform was established with a simple idea:

Physiotherapy should be personal.

We believe people want to feel listened to, understood and involved in their recovery. They want to know what is happening, why they are experiencing their symptoms and what they can do to improve.

That is why our approach brings together clinical assessment, hands-on treatment, rehabilitation, education and ongoing support where appropriate.

Rather than focusing solely on reducing pain, we look at the bigger picture. How is the problem affecting your everyday life? What are you hoping to get back to? Is it walking comfortably, returning to work, getting back to sport, exercising without fear or simply being able to enjoy normal daily activities again?

By understanding these things, we can build a better relationship with our patients and create a treatment plan that is meaningful to them.

From one room to a growing clinic

Bodyform started small.

Ammit initially worked one day a week from a small, rented treatment room while continuing in another role. It was the beginning of an idea that was built around providing the type of physiotherapy care he believed people deserved.

The response from patients helped Bodyform grow.

Within two years, the business had developed from a small part-time service into a full-time physiotherapy clinic, with its own dedicated premises, two treatment rooms and a rehabilitation space.

What started with one person and one room has continued to grow into a team, with other physiotherapists joining the clinic who share our commitment to patient-centred care, clinical excellence and helping people achieve meaningful goals.

As Bodyform grows, our aim is not simply to see more patients. It is to build a team and a service that continues to reflect the values on which Bodyform was founded.

More than a clinic

Our vision for Bodyform has always extended beyond the treatment room.

We want to be an approachable local service that people feel comfortable reaching out to when they need help. Whether someone is recovering from an injury, managing a long-term condition, preparing for surgery, returning to sport or simply looking to move more confidently, we want to be there to support them.

We are also developing our community work through education sessions, exercise classes and partnerships with local community organisations. Our aim is to make physiotherapy and movement-based support more accessible to people across Leeds, helping individuals stay active, manage their health and continue doing the things that matter to them.

We have already begun building relationships with local community centres and are looking at opportunities to take Bodyform's services and education into more communities across Leeds.

Looking ahead

Bodyform is still growing, but the reason we started remains the same.

To listen. To understand. To support. To help people move better, recover with confidence and live more active lives.

We want every person who comes to Bodyform to feel that they have been genuinely heard and that their care has been built around them.

As our team and community services continue to grow, we will remain committed to providing evidence-informed physiotherapy, high-quality rehabilitation and exceptional patient care , with people at the heart of everything we do.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Our FAQs are here to provide you with clear, concise information. We demystify the physiotherapy process and make it simple and straightforward for you to get back to your best!

An initial consultation involves our Chartered Physiotherapist asking a series of questions to learn about your problem. Based on these finding, our Physiotherapist will then ask you to perform certain movements to further diagnose the source and the cause of your problem.

During the initial assessment there may also be time for some hands-on treatment to relieve your pain. You will also be prescribed some home exercises and given advice on how you can help speed up your recovery.
